Tobacco Cessation Program - Sign Up For Free Training at National Convention!

Greetings SNPhA,

Looking for a way to continue to Serve the Underserved and impact patient care? NPhA Member, Dr. Gayle Tuckett, will be conducting a Tobacco Cessation workshop at our upcoming National Convention that will train our student members how to properly educate our patients to quit smoking. This workshop comes with an official tobacco cessation certification. The training session is scheudled on Saturday, July 27 from 1:00 - 3:00 PM CST.

 

The live training session will serve two purposes:

1) Training those who wish to provide tobacco cessation interventions

2) Assisting those who wish to take the training to the next level and become an ambassador

 

Please note that there is mandatory training that needs to be completed before the convention in order to recieve full certification in the tobacco cessation. Please see as follows.

 

For Option 1:

Behavior Counseling & Pharmacotherapy (2.5 Hours)

Session Attendees must complete and submit the Five A's Module certificate prior to entry into the session. Please submit all certificates to Gayle.Tuckett@fda.hhs.gov, or to Dr. Tuckett in person.

 

For Option 2:

Behavior Counseling & Pharmacotherapy (2.5 Hours)

Train-the-Trainer (6 Hours)

Session Attendees must complete and submit the Five A's Module and Train-the-Trainer certificate prior to entry into the session. Please submit all certificates to rxfcambassador@gmail.com, or to Dr. Tuckett in person.

 

During the live portion of the training, participants will recieve a brief review, demonstrate the skills learned, and recieve a quick overview of the Ambassador program.
