Region II Facilitator
Kiera Miller is a fourth year Doctor of Pharmacy candidate at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). She earned her B.S. in Exercise Science at the University of South Carolina (USC) in 2013. Her love for SNPhA began at the pharmacy student organization fair, where a diverse group of students made her fall in love with SNPhA’s mission. She then went on to serve as the P1 liaison, operation immunization chair, president-elect, chapter delegate, and chapter president. SNPhA has allowed her to have purpose during her pharmacy school journey. Through SNPhA, she has had the opportunity to travel, network, and become more self aware, all while serving the underserved community.
Kiera is also an active member of CPFI, APhA-ASP, SSHP, PDC, and PLS. During her P2 and P3 school years, Kiera served on the MUSC COP diversity committee. During her 2 years on the committee, she helped to create 3 student diversity groups, the Underrepresented Minority Mentor group, the Non-Traditional Student Peer Support group, and an umbrella student diversity group. She also helped to launch the PREP (Pharmacy Readiness Engagement Program) program, which allows interested students to have the opportunity to simulate the pharmacy school interview process and learn about the different career paths of a pharmacist.
Kiera’s interests include trying new foods, meeting new people, laughing, and traveling. For one of her elective rotations she traveled to Masindi, Uganda where she worked at an outreach health clinic as well as the Masindi-Kitara Medical Centre. During this rotation the had the opportunity to serve the underserved community on a global level, and fulfill each of her aforementioned interests.
Kiera is honored to be appointed as the 2017-2018 Region II Facilitator, and excited to facilitate growth and witness greatness! Kiera is a true advocate for peer learning, and will aim to push chapters to participate in multiple CAPS events. It takes teamwork to Connect the P*I*E*C*E*S, and Region II is ready to link up, learn, and serve!
