Colin Lombardi grew up in small-town Milan, Ohio, located about an hour West of Cleveland. While attending his alma mater of Edison High School, he decided to become a pharmacy student for his love of healthcare and helping others. He chose to attend Ohio Northern University’s Raabe College of Pharmacy in Ada, Ohio, where he is now a 3rd year professional student. Ohio Northern’s pharmacy program is one of the few in the nation that functions as a 0-6 year pharmacy curriculum, allowing students to get involved in organizations from day one. Thus, Colin has been involved in SNPhA since his freshman year of school, where he has served as his chapter’s Legislative Chair, President-Elect, and President. Furthermore, he has attended every national and regional conference since becoming a part of the organization. Through his experience in SNPhA, Colin has developed lifelong friendships and created a transcontinental professional network, while having the ability to greatly impact and influence those around him.
Colin has been a part of many clubs, teams, and organizations while in school. He is a proud alumni brother of Phi Gamma Delta (FIJI) social fraternity, works for his campus community as a Resident Assistant, and is also a writer for the Pharmacy and Wellness (PAW) Review that aims to bring current pharmacy issues to light. In the past, Colin played college football for Ohio Northern as a place kicker. This experience allowed him to join the Student Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC), where he eventually became President of the organization and was a leader among student athletes on campus. He also has conducted research on the disease of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and drug therapy treatment options in a rodent model. Colin works as an intern at both OhioHealth Marion General Hospital in Marion, Ohio and Discount Drug Mart in Huron, Ohio. In the meantime, Colin enjoys traveling with friends and family, attending concerts of various genres, exercising, reading, and trying to improve his fashion game.
Colin’s future career goals include pharmacy advocacy, leadership, and administration. He is thoroughly interested in where the profession of pharmacy is moving in the future and wants to be a part of the continuous growth to give patients the highest quality services and care.
As National President for the 2018-2019 year, Colin is excited to work with such an incredible national board and enthusiastic membership. His vision will challenge everyone to find their Strength In Purpose - a call to action that asks SNPhA’s leaders to embrace their responsibility to serve the underserved and make a difference in the world around them. Colin believes that when prioritizing these values, members will find fulfillment and direction in their practice.
