Region IV Facilitator
Tasha Roshan is a fourth year PharmD Candidate at Texas Southern University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (TSU COPHS) in Houston, Texas. Being exposed to healthcare at a young age and after completing a shadowing experience in high school she knew she wanted to become a pharmacist. She completed her prerequisites at TSU, after which she was accepted into pharmacy school through their direct admission as a Health Professions Pathway Scholar.
Tasha was first exposed to SNPhA as a pre-pharmacy student and fell in love with the environment and mission that her local SNPhA chapter created. She knew it was an organization she wanted to stay active in as she matriculated into pharmacy school. With a desire to make an impact within her local community and school, Tasha was elected president-elect at the end of her first professional year.
As chapter president and with the support of her executive board, Tasha was able to grow chapter membership by 165%, win two national SNPhA competitions, rank first as a medium sized chapter, and rank within the top five chapters nationally. Her passion to serve the community transcended throughout the various activities she participated in pharmacy school. She helped charter a maternal and child health organization known as the Global Alliance of Maternal and Child Health and interned as an administrative and research intern for the maternal and child health program with Baylor College of Medicine and TSU. In addition, Tasha is a member of Phi Lambda Sigma (PLS), Kappa Psi Pharmaceutical Fraternity Inc., and her local Student Society of Health System Pharmacists (SSHP) chapter. This year, Tasha will also be serving with ASHP as a national advisory group member for residency preparation.
In her free time, Tasha remains active within her community as a weekend volunteer at MD Anderson Cancer Center and as her church youth pianist. She enjoys finding new shows to watch on Netflix and exploring the food scene in Houston.
As Region IV Facilitator, Tasha is extremely excited to continue her SNPhA journey. She looks forward to working with local chapter leadership to continue the mission of SNPhA and facilitate growth within SNPhA, especially during these unprecedented times. ‘As Our Journey Continues’, Tasha looks forward to working with national board members to be a resource for chapters this coming year!
