Public Relations Liaison
Jordan Simpson is a fourth year Pharm.D. candidate at the Texas Southern University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in Houston, Texas. Always having a passion for healthcare as a child, the Bronx, New York native found his passion for pharmacy through understanding the importance of health literacy and bridging the knowledge gap of medication use to all members of the community. Jordan’s interest in writing, performance poetry, and social activism fostered many opportunities to serve underserved communities around the country throughout his high school and undergraduate studies.
SNPhA granted Jordan with a unique opportunity to bring together his passion for healthcare and desire to make an impact in his community. Throughout his tenure as 2019-2020 Vice President of the Texas Southern University chapter of SNPhA, Jordan has devoted his efforts towards innovative approaches to patient advocacy and community service while serving as a Maternal and Child Health Fellow with Baylor College of Medicine. Having served as historian of the Delta Theta Chapter of Kappa Psi Pharmaceutical Fraternity Inc., Humanitarian Co-Chair of the TSU Student Society of Health-System Pharmacists, and being inducted into the Phi Lambda Sigma Pharmacy Leadership Society, Jordan’s commitment to growth and faithfully serving in each allotted season he’s in provides motivation to continue to push boundaries. Outside of SNPhA, Jordan has been recognized as one of Houston’s top 100 creatives, an award-winning musician, a Southwest Regional poetry slam champion, and a published author.
As Public Relations Liaison, Jordan is excited to lead creatively as SNPhA seeks to drive innovation. He is looking forward to aid in the national board’s vision to empower SNPhA chapters around the country to make a unique impact in their communities when they need it the most. Honored by this chance to serve on a national level, Jordan is determined to see unprecedented opposition as opportunity as Our Journey Continues!
