Outside of basketball, Kofi is a professional photographer and has his own photography business under the “&Flicks Photography” trademark. In addition to SNPhA, Kofi is involved within Pharmacy Initiative Leaders (PILs) Inc., Phi Lambda Sigma (PLS) Pharmacy Leadership Society, The Rho Chi Pharmacy Honor Society, American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP), and American Pharmacists Association-Academy of Student Pharmacists (APhA-ASP).
Kofi’s passion for pharmacy and health service stems from his late mother’s battle with colon cancer. While many people were introduced to the profession via community pharmacy, Kofi had his first run in with pharmacy at The Johns Hopkins Hospital Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center. There, Kofi noted the impact pharmacists can have in healthcare through various treatment settings.
As a leader at the local level, Kofi’s devotion to SNPhA was cultivated during his tenure as President Elect and Chapter President of NDMU SNPhA. Under his leadership, NDMU SNPhA expanded its chapter membership by 150%, earned the title of Region I’s top chapter in 2018-2019 and finished the 2019-2020 school year off ranked within the top ten chapters in the nation. Recognized by his efforts, Kofi was acknowledged as a 2020 J.B. Hills Chapter President of the Year National Finalist.
As National Vice President, Kofi is looking forward to leading student pharmacists around the country in serving the underserved to their best ability. Not just encouraging service, but also keying in on necessary professional development SNPhA can provide for membership during our unprecedented times. Leading through crisis is a challenge Kofi is excited to embark on as Our Journey Continues.
