Chronic Kidney Disease Chair
Dr. Shawnda Herring received her Doctorate of Pharmacy degree from the University of North Carolina Eshelman School of Pharmacy in May 2015. She believes in the mission of SNPhA and have been involved in SNPhA since her first year of pharmacy school, having served as president-elect and subsequently president this past year. She also has served the community though volunteering with Taking Action By Services (TABS) and volunteering the University of North Carolina Kidney Center for four years prior to pharmacy school, traveling the state conducting kidney screenings. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, traveling and attending live sporting events (Go Heels!). She also has a goal to visit all 50 states. Her goals as the Chronic Kidney Disease chair are to increase CKD awareness, especially in the setting of diabetes and hypertension, increase awareness of PKD and provide all chapters with screening tools and handouts to incorporate CKD into health fairs. She looks forward to working with each of you this year and impacting the local community.
