Region II Facilitator
Dr. James E. Smith, Jr., a native of Vicksburg, Mississippi, received his Doctorate of Pharmacy degree from the University of Tennessee College of Pharmacy. Before attending pharmacy school, he matriculated at Alcorn State University where he graduated with a B.S. in Biochemistry. At Alcorn State he pledged Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and Kappa Kappa Psi National Band Fraternity, Inc. as well as participated with numerous other organizations.
James is honored and excited to be serving as your 2014-2015 SNPhA Region II Facilitator and looks forward to carrying out the mission of SNPhA National President, Dainielle Fox, to “Stabilize our Foundation to Solidify our Future.” As Region II Facilitator, James is eager to use the passion gained as serving in his local chapter to motivate the entire organization to increase their efforts of serving the underserved. One of the quotes James is ardent about states, “Service is the rent we pay for being. It is the very purpose of life, and not something you do in your spare time.”
At the University of Tennessee, James enjoys being involved in several organizations on campus. He has served as past-president in his local SNPhA chapter, past service co-chair in the Omega Chapter of Phi Delta Chi, Vice-President of Black Student Association, and an active member in the Theta Chapter of Phi Lambda Sigma, Alpha Nu Chapter of Rho Chi, and APhA-ASP. Aside from scholastic activities, James relishes spending time with friends and family. He also enjoys playing and watching basketball (Go LAKERS), traveling, playing drums, and shopping…yes shopping!
Overall, James is here to serve each of YOU and welcomes your ideas and feedback. He is eager to get everyone motivated to “Stabilize our Foundation to Solidify our Future.”
